Egypt, At Moderate Pace!

Egypt is an unforgettable experience, a unique change of scenery!

As soon as you set foot on Egyptian soil, you’ll be transported back in time. You’ll visit the pyramids of Giza and the majestic Sphinx with the head of a man and the body of a lion, located near Cairo, as well as the pyramids of Dahshur and Saqqarah. Your senses will then be baffled as you wander the historic shopping streets of the capital, with its bazaars, cafés, mosques and many Islamic-inspired monuments. You’re sure to be impressed by the colossal statues in the Great Museum of Egypt, as well as its collection of funerary and domestic objects dating back to Antiquity.

You’ll then escape to El Fayoum, an oasis of astonishing natural beauty, where you’ll discover the expanse of Lake Qârun and the high Wadi El Rayan waterfalls located close to a desert. You’ll also enjoy a sandbord ride and a 4X4 excursion.

Then, a cruise on the legendary Nile River takes you to the heart of the country, from Luxor to Aswan: a historic journey dotted with architectural wonders. You’ll visit the most beautiful temples dedicated to the gods and goddesses of antiquity and built for the great pharaohs. Finally, your journey of discovery will reach its climax at the majestic temples of Abu Simbel, from where you’ll have a superb view of Lake Nasser.

Then it’s on to Hurghada, where you’ll enjoy a few days’ relaxation in a luxury hotel on the shores of the Red Sea. You can enjoy the seaside atmosphere of this paradise, slip your feet into the warm sand and watch a belly dance performance.

And when the journey is over and you return home, all these beauties and splendours will live forever in your thoughts and dreams!

Departure for a day of discovery of the famous monuments of ancient Egyptin the capital region:

  • Pyramids of Giza Giza Pyramids: a vast funerary complex housing the tombs of the pharaohs and comprising three great pyramids. The pyramid of Cheops, the only one of the Seven Wonders of the World to have survived to the present day, is one of these imposing vestiges of Egyptian antiquity. It seems that the pyramids were erected some 4,500 years ago, and that their construction was facilitated by the existence of a branch of the Nile River, now dried up, which would have enabled the stones to be transported from nearby quarries. However, the engineering challenges involved in their construction still leave many questions unanswered in today’s scientific world.
  • The SphinxThe Sphinx, a monument sculpted from limestone, stands in front of the three famous pyramids. It is the largest monolithic sculpture in the world.
  • Dahshuranother royal necropolis of the great Egyptian dynasties, housing 2 pyramids built at the request of King Snefru. The first, known as the Rhomboid Pyramid, and the second, known as the Red Pyramid because of the red limestone used in its construction, shared the same ambition and the same challenge. However, only the second project was successful, leading to the construction of the1st smooth-sided pyramid. The Red Pyramid thus officially became King Snefru’s resting place, after which his son Cheops had Egypt’s largest pyramid built using newly-acquired construction techniques.
  • SaqqarahSaqqarah, a vast ancient Egyptian necropolis where royal tombs stand side by side with more modest burials, provides us with a wealth of evidence about daily life in ancient Egypt.
