School Trip to Morocco

This trip to Morocco was designed for school groups. It focuses on encounters with the Moroccan people, their history, and their environment, and promotes an ecotourism and community-based approach.

As soon as they arrive, the students will take a journey through the history of Marrakech and its medina, a historic district featuring Islamic-inspired architecture and designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There, they will experience the richness of Moroccan culture by meeting various artisans who preserve traditional craftsmanship.

On numerous occasions, they will have the opportunity to interact directly with the local population through workshops (cooking and calligraphy) or by participating in community-based projects focused on environmental goals, such as water conservation.

Students will discover the many facets of Morocco as they learn about Berber culture during an evening of storytelling and traditional music in Ourika, by meeting nomadic desert dwellers during a visit to Merzouga, and by immersing themselves in the world of the Amazigh shepherds of the Midelt mountain region.

In short, throughout the tour they’ll be immersed in the scenery of Moroccan medinas, souks, mosques, and ksour, and will travel through exceptional natural landscapes (desert, oases, valleys, and the Atlas Mountains), where they’ll take in beautiful sights and create extraordinary memories, such as the unforgettable experience of a camel ride through the desert!
