Continue your adventure to dreamy oases and Berber villages with their typical troglodyte dwellings. Experience the desert by camel and Jeep 4X4, and spend a memorable night in a tent in the heart of the Tunisian Sahara.
Then set off to discover Egypt and let yourself be transported back in time. Visit the pyramids of Giza and the majestic Sphinx with the head of a man and the body of a lion, located near Cairo. Be bewildered as you wander the historic shopping streets of the capital, with its bazaars, cafés, mosques and many Islamic-inspired monuments.

Departure from Montreal airport (P.E. Trudeau) on a flight to Tunis.
Note: Arrival at the airport at least 3 hours before departure.

- Arrival in Tunis. Welcome and transfer to the hotel for installation. Rest of the day free to enjoy the pool and other hotel facilities.

HAMMAMET-TUNIS-CARTHAGE-SIDI BOU SAÏD-HAMMAMET (167 km, round trip)

Departure for a day of discovery:
- Discover the Tunis MedinaA UNESCO World Heritage Site, its rich architectural heritage bears witness to the architectural and artistic influences that have dominated its history. Stroll through the the souks to meet its merchants.
- Visit the archaeological site of CarthageCarthage, a city that enjoyed its golden age in the4th B.C., when it had the best war fleet and dominated all trade in the western Mediterranean. Visit the portthe tophet (sacred space dedicated to the worship of divinities) and the Roman public baths of Antoninus the Pious.
- Continuation to Sidi Bou Saïdone of the most charming villages on the Mediterranean coast, with a collection of pretty blue and white houses. Free time for a stroll.
- Return to Hammamet seaside hotel.

TUNIS (Hammamet)-KAIROUAN-TOZEUR (455 km)

Departure for the holy city of Kairouan :
- Visit the Aghlabite basinsimportant hydraulic works that supplied the city with water as early as the 9th century.
- Visit the Great Mosquethe city’s emblematic building, the oldest and most prestigious Muslim place of worship in the West.
- Visit the mausoleum of the Barber which houses the tomb of a fervent companion of the Prophet of Islam who died in battle in the 7th century.
- Visit of the medina of Kairouanthe oldest city in the Maghreb, converted to Islam by the Arabs in the 7th century and home to a large number of religious buildings (mausoleums, mosques, schools, etc.).
- Visit the artisanal carpet centera venue showcasing an art form that has been firmly rooted in Kairouan for centuries. Kairouan carpets feature geometric shapes typical of Islamic art, as well as floral motifs derived from traditional Tunisian folk art.
- Journey across the high steppes and the Tunisian mining basin to Tozeur.

TOZEUR-CHEBIKA-TOZEUR (100 km round trip)

Departure for another day of discovery:
- Tour of the city of TozeurTozeur, a magnificent oasis located between the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert. Discover its typical market and its old quarters.
- Visit Eden Palm Parkan open-air museum set in a palm grove, where you can learn all there is to know about this fruit and its by-products. On-site tasting of date products.
- In the afternoon, continuation to the Atlas Mountains and Jeep 4X4 excursion in the Tunisian Sahara.
- Continuation to Chebikaa Berber village set against a backdrop of ochre-coloured sand and orange-coloured mountains from which flow important springs. Discover the magnificent waterfall with turquoise-blue waters.
- Photo stop at one of the one of the filming locations for the “Star Wars” movie to capture a sunset over the sand dunes.
- Return journey to Tozeur.

TOZEUR-CHOTT EL JÉRID-DOUZ-KSAR GHILANE (268 km)

- Crossing the great salt lake Chott El Jérid with a photo stop to immortalize this beautiful and somewhat surreal landscape. This is a plain stretching almost 100 km from east to west, flooded seasonally with saline water that limits vegetation.
- Arrival in Douza town in southern Tunisia at the foot of the great dunes, earning it the title of “Gateway to the Desert”. Dromedary trekking in an extraordinary natural setting.
- Jeep 4X4 excursion through the Tunisian Sahara, to see these endless stretches of sand.
- Drive to the Ksar Ghilane camp for an overnight stay night in a tent. The promise of a taste of the freedom of the desert people, the immensity of the sky and the tranquility of this setting of dunes and sand plains stretching to infinity.

KSAR GHILANE-MATMATA-EL JEM-SOUSSE (444 km)

Departure for another day of discovery to the Matmata region:
- Escape through the Dahar mountain range and its beautiful lunar landscapes.
- Visit the village of Matmata and discover the traditional troglodytic houses of the Berber people. These are dwellings dug horizontally, floor by floor, into the mountainside, with a well as the main feature of the house’s central courtyard. These houses were designed to let in just the right amount of light, while remaining cool enough to ensure comfort all year round.
- Continuation to El Jem to visit theRoman amphitheatre the best-preserved Roman amphitheatre in the country. It was built in the3rd century as a venue for gladiatorial combat, chariot races and circus games. The stadium, built entirely of cut stone, bears witness to the extraordinary genius of Roman engineers. At the time, it could accommodate up to 35,000 spectators.
- Continuation to the seaside resort of Sousse.

Departure for a day of discovering the famous monuments of the capital region:
- Pyramids of Giza Giza Pyramids: a vast funerary complex housing the tombs of the pharaohs and comprising three great pyramids. The pyramid of Cheops, the only one of the Seven Wonders of the World to have survived to the present day, is one of these imposing vestiges of Egyptian antiquity. It seems that the pyramids were erected some 4,500 years ago, and that their construction was facilitated by the existence of a branch of the Nile River, now dried up, which would have enabled the stones to be transported from nearby quarries. However, the engineering challenges involved in their construction still leave many questions unanswered in today’s scientific world.
- The SphinxThe Sphinx, a monument sculpted from limestone, stands in front of the three famous pyramids. It is the largest monolithic sculpture in the world.
- Mohammed Ali Mosque Mohammed Ali Mosque: an important Islamic sanctuary in Cairo, built in the heart of the citadel in the Ottoman architectural style of the 19e century for Viceroy Mohammed-Ali Pasha, considered the father of modern Egypt. He was responsible for Egypt’s entry into the industrial age, making the country one of the world’s leading cotton producers. He was behind the first initiatives to build railroads and dig canals to transport materials for export. Egypt owes him a debt of gratitude for important social reforms, including the country’s first military, medical and pharmacy schools.

- Visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM)This ultra-modern museum opened in October 2024. The general logic of its architecture is said to be based on the figure of the triangle, found in the pyramids. The museum traces Egyptian history from the Stone Age to Cleopatra. Highlights include the Colossus of Ramses II and an impressive collection of artefacts found in the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun.
- Khan el Khelili Bazaarthe best-known market in the Middle East, is a bustling place renowned for its many stores selling local products and souvenirs. (Colorful lamps, fabrics, copper objects, jewelry, spices, perfumes, musical instruments, etc.).
- Al Mo’ez StreetAl Mo’ez Street is an open-air museum and a must-see opportunity to immerse yourself in the Islamic world! This is one of the city’s oldest streets, home to some of the country’s most remarkable Islamic monuments and buildings.
