Jordan is an invitation to travel back in time and discover the exceptional vestiges of the civilizations that have marked its history.

Discover Amman, one of the oldest cities in the world, now a vibrant capital with a young, dynamic population.

Take the Route of the Kings and relive the golden age of the caravans of Eastern and Western merchants who travelled along it, and tread on famous sites as you visit Mount Nebo and Umm Qeis, from where you can see Lake Tiberias.

Take a step back in time to the Crusades with a visit to the fortresses of Karak and Ajlun, and discover the most imposing ruins of the Roman Empire in Jerash. Marvel at a masterpiece of Byzantine art in the mosaic city of Madaba, and marvel at the beauty of Petra, a Nabataean city carved into pink sandstone cliffs and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Breathe in the country air as you cross the Jordan Valley to the Dead Sea, where you’ll experience an unforgettable swim and soak up the scenery of the Dana Nature Reserve.

Be charmed by the unspeakable beauty of the Rum Valley and join Wadi Rum for the ultimate desert experience in Bedouin country.

Day 1:

MONTREAL

Departure from Montreal airport (P.E.Trudeau) on a flight to Amman.

Note: Arrival at the airport at least 3 hours before departure.

Day 2:

AMMAN

  • Arrival in Amman. Welcome and transfer to hotel for check-in.

Day 3:

AMMAN

Departure to discover Amman.

  • Citadel housing the remains of the various civilizations that have dominated the region over the centuries (Temple of Hercules, Umayyad Palace).
  • Roman TheatreAn imposing vestige of a hillside theater that could seat up to 6,000 people in the 2nd century, and which is still sometimes used for shows.
  • Continuation to the Kharraneh, Amra and Azrakdesert castles. Monumental buildings built in desert areas in the 8th century, equipped with excellent irrigation systems, which enabled the rise of Arab-Islamic civilization and served as caravanserais. Caravanserais were once places where merchants could stop with their caravans of goods to rest and eat along the trade routes of the Near East.

Day 4:

AMMAN-JERASH-AJLUN-AMMAN (140 km round trip)

Departure for a tour of the region:

  • Jerashan exceptional archaeological site for its state of preservation of Roman remains dating from the 1st century BC.
  • Drive through magnificent pine and olive groves.
  • À Ajlundiscovery tour of the Arab-Islamic fortress used as a defense during the Christian crusades of the 12th century. Magnificent view of the Jordan Valley.
  • Return to Amman.

Day 5:

AMMAN-GADARA-AMMAN (240 km round trip)

Continue your tour of the region:

  • Visit to the town of Umm Qeisknownin Roman times as Gadara, a mythical place where one of the miracles in the Bible is said to have taken place. Panoramic view of the famous Lake Tiberias.

Day 6:

AMMAN-MADABA-MONTE NEBO-LA MER MORTE (70 km)

Departure for another day of discovery:

  • Madabathe ” city of mosaics “known in particular for the Map of St. George, a remarkable mosaic work detailing the geography of the region, from the Nile delta to Lebanon.
  • Stop at Monte Nebothe peak from which Moses is said to have seen the Promised Land before his death. View of the West Bank and, on a clear day, the cities of Jericho and Jerusalem.
  • Continuation to the Dead Sea. A magical sunset in prospect.

Day 7:

LA MER MORTE seaside holiday

  • Free day to relax and enjoy the therapeutic waters of the Dead Sea, the lowest body of water on earth. Its high concentration of salts and minerals makes for a surreal floating experience!

Day 8:

THE DEAD SEA-KARAK-DANA (180 km)

❖ Meals included: Breakfast and dinner / Lodging: 3* hotel / Transportation: Air-conditioned vehicle.

  • Departure for Karak and journey through a magnificent rocky valley and high plateaus.
  • Discover the imposing fortress of Karak
    Head for Dana and continue your journey through time on the Route of the Kings, a legendary caravan route criss-crossed for centuries by merchants from East and West.

Day 9:

DANA-SHOUBACK-PETITE PÉTRA-PÉTRA (55 km)

❖ Meals included: Breakfast and dinner / Lodging: 4* hotel / Transportation: air-conditioned vehicle.

Departure for a day of discovery:

  • Visit to Danaentrance to Jordan’s largest nature reserve, declared a Biosphere Reserve for the diversity of its flora and fauna. An impressive geological landscape!
  • Continue to Shoubacksite of the oldest fortress built by the Crusaders in Jordan. A lunar landscape well worth seeing!
  • Stop at Little Petra to see this impressive group of dwellings carved out of the canyon’s sandstone by the Nabataeans in the 1st century.

Day 10:

PETRA

Departure for a day of discovery:

  • Visit PetraPetra, an archaeological site of exceptional value, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its structure carved into the sandstone cliffs, and an ancient city of Nabataean tombs and temples. Free time to wander around this remarkable city.

Day 11:

PETRA-WADI RUM (112 km)

❖ Meals included: Breakfast and dinner / Tented accommodation / Transport: air-conditioned vehicle.

Direction Wadi Rum, in Bedouin country.

  • Crossing the magnificent Rum Valley, where ochre sandstone rocks intermingle with stretches of pinkish sand. Jeep 4X4 excursion à through this grandiose desert overnight in a luxury bivouac.

Day 12:

WADI RUM-AQABA (72 km) seaside holiday
