Itinerary
Day 1
MONTREAL
Departure from Montreal airport (P.E. Trudeau) on a flight to Tunis.
Note: Arrival at the airport at least 3 hours before departure.
Day 2:
TUNIS-HAMMAMET (66 km)
❖ Meals included: Dinner / Lodging: 5* Hotel / Transportation: Air-conditioned vehicle.
- Arrival in Tunis. Welcome and transfer to the hotel for installation.
- Rest of the day free to enjoy the pool and other facilities.
Day 3:
HAMMAMET-TUNIS-CARTHAGE-SIDI BOU SAÏD-HAMMAMET (162 km round trip)
❖ Meals included: Breakfast and dinner / Lodging: 5* Hotel / Transportation: Air-conditioned vehicle.
Departure for a day of discovery:
- Visit to Tunis and its medinalisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its rich architectural heritage, reflecting the architectural and artistic influences that have dominated its history. Stroll through the the souks to meet its merchants.
- Discovery of the archaeological site of CarthageCarthage, a city that enjoyed its golden age in the 4th century BC, when it had the best war fleet and dominated all trade in the western Mediterranean. Visit the portthe tophet (sacred space dedicated to the worship of divinities) and the Roman public baths of Antoninus the Pious.
- Direction Sidi Bou Saïd one of the most charming villages on the Mediterranean coast, with a collection of pretty white and blue houses. Free time to store or stroll through the narrow streets and enjoy a cup of mint tea.
- Return to the seaside hotel inHammamet.
Day 4:
HAMMAMET-BIZERTE-SEJNANE-TABARKA (261 km)

Departure for a day of discovery:
- Visit the old fishing port of Bizerte and visit its fish market and its medina.
- Continue along the coast along the coral road and stop off at Sejnane to visit the local potters.
- Continuation to Tabarka and discover its marina and its its famous aiguilles (rock formations).
Day 5:
TABARKA-AIN DRAHAM-DOUGGA-SOUSSE (272 km)

Departure for a day of discovery:
- Escape to sublime mountain landscapes through the Kroumirie massif and its cork oak forests and visit the village of‘Ain Draham and its souk.
- Continuation to Dougga and discover its Roman ruins classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Continuationto Kairouan.
Day 6:
KAIROUAN-TOZEUR (294 km)

Departure for a visit to the holy city of Kairouan :
- Visit the Aghlabite basinsimportant hydraulic works used to supply the city with water as early as the 9th century.
- Visit the Great Mosquethe city’s emblematic building, the oldest and most prestigious Muslim place of worship in the West.
- Visit the mausoleum of the Barber which houses the tomb of a fervent companion of the Prophet of Islam, who died in battle in the 7th century.
- Visit of the medina of Kairouanthe oldest city in the Maghreb, converted to Islam by the Arabs in the 7th century and home to a large number of religious buildings (mausoleums, mosques, schools, etc.).
- Visit the artisanal carpet centera venue showcasing an art form that has been firmly rooted in Kairouan for centuries. Kairouan carpets feature geometric shapes typical of Islamic art, as well as floral motifs from traditional Tunisian folk art.
- Crossing the high steppes towards Tozeur.
Day 7:
TOZEUR-CHOT EL JÉRID-DOUZ (125 km)

Departure for a day of discovery:
- Departure for the Atlas Mountains and excursion by Jeep 4X4 in the Tunisian Sahara, towards the oases of Tamerza, Midès and ChebikaA Berber village set against a backdrop of ochre-coloured sand and orange-coloured mountains, from which large springs flow. Discover its magnificent waterfall with its turquoise-blue waters.
- Crossing the great salt lake Chott El Jérid with a photo stop to immortalize this beautiful and somewhat surreal landscape. This is a plain stretching almost 100 km from east to west, flooded seasonally with saline water that limits vegetation.
- Arrival in Douza town in southern Tunisia at the foot of the great dunes, earning it the title of “Gateway to the Desert”. Dromedary trekking in an extraordinary natural setting.
Day 8:
DOUZ-MATMATA-EL JEM-SOUSSE (426 km)
❖ Meals included: Breakfast and dinner / Lodging: 5* hotel/ Transportation: Air-conditioned vehicle and ferry.
Departure for a day of discovery:
- Departure for Matmataa mountain village with troglodytic houses. These are dwellings dug horizontally, floor by floor, into the mountainside, with a well as the main feature of the house’s central courtyard. The Berbers designed these houses to let in just the right amount of light, while keeping them cool and comfortable all year round.
- Continuing eastwards through this lunar landscape.
- Continuation to El Jem to visit theRoman amphitheatrethe best preserved in the country. It was built in the3rd century as a venue for gladiatorial combat, chariot races and circus games. The stadium, built entirely of ashlar, bears witness to the extraordinary genius of Roman engineers. At the time, it could accommodate up to 35,000 spectators.
- Continuation to the seaside resort of Sousse and check-in at your hotel.
Day 9:
SOUSSE seaside holiday

- Visit to the Sousse archaeological museumwhich houses an impressive collection of Roman mosaics.
- Route to Monastir and visit the Habib Bourguiba Mosquebuilt in the early 1960s and dedicated to the 1st President of the Tunisian Republic. An imposing architectural composition incorporating several noble metals (gold, marble, etc.). Stroll around its marina to capture the Mediterranean atmosphere.
Back to Sousse.
